Solarstone, the leading manufacturer of building-integrated photovoltaics (BIPV) in the Nordics, launched an aluminum kit last year that instantly transforms any solar panel into a weather-resistant 2-in-1 roofing material. The kit is called Click-on and makes building-integrated photovoltaics accessible for new construction and renovation projects while preserving aesthetics.

Click on technology
Click-on technology solves the main problems faced by BIPV: compatibility and installation complexity.
The kit does not require screws or adhesives to mate with standard PV modules. In addition, the kit can be easily assembled on site. The 2in1 system has been successfully tested against fire, wind and snow.

Solarstone products have been cleared for installation in areas with protected buildings.
Advantage.
The Click-on kit has great advantages over conventional built-in and rooftop solar installations.
- It’s easy to install. Standard facades of 100 m2 can easily be paneled in one day.
- Improved aesthetics. It is suitable for churches in the Nordic countries as well as for villas on the Côte d’Azur.
- Profitable. The payback period is 30% shorter on average than other BIPV vendors.
- Non-active modules can be used on the perimeter or in permanently shaded areas. The dummy modules are made from aluminum honeycomb panels and framed using the same Click-on technology. They fit naturally into the overall concept of a modern solar roof. If passive aluminum modules cannot be used on the perimeter, special transition flashings are available to match normal decking material.

Integrated value solutions.
In addition to Click-on solar roofs, Solarstone manufactures integrated tile and steel roof panels that have wide compatibility with major roofing material producers.

Roof surfaces and facades are valuable resources that can be used pragmatically.
Solar roofs and integrated photovoltaic solutions change the balance between energy production and consumption. Modern building envelopes are the cornerstones that allow energy prosumers to thrive.
In the not too distant future, we will have better and smarter charging and storage infrastructure at our service, solar roofs and facades will become local green “service stations” to support the ecological transition.
