the ultralight cargo electric bike that can carry up to two children

Austrian/Bulgarian product designer Valentin Vodev launched the Vello Sub on Indiegogo, which is touted as one of the lightest electric cargo bikes.

The 1.8 m long Sub weighs only 24 kg. The chassis can accommodate riders between 1.5 and 2m tall and includes folding handlebars and folding pedals when parking space is tight.

The single-speed cargo e-bike will be powered by the new 250W Bosch Gen 4 Cargo Line motor, delivering 85Nm of torque and pedal assist up to 20mph in the US or 25kph in the EU European (plus pedal assist).

It features a Gates Carbon Drive belt configuration for low-maintenance riding, benefits from the new Bosch Smart System for mobile app integration and ABS braking, and can be optionalized with Enviolo gearshifts.

The new Vello will come with a single Bosch 400Wh battery, but can be upgraded to a dual battery configuration or configured with one or two 545Wh batteries, at an additional cost, to get up to 250 km range per charge.

The aluminum frame-integrated rear rack features the tool-less MIK-HD click luggage system, which is prepared to accommodate child seats on the way to school. A rack or bag can also be mounted on the front, and the total load capacity is 210 kg.

Otherwise the e-bike rolls on 20 inch wheels wrapped in wide Schwalbe tyres, stopping power is provided by Magura MT4 hydraulic disc brakes with 160mm rotors, there is integrated Supernova lighting at the front and rear, and a double kickstand for parking stability.

The Vello Sub is available with a chromoly or titanium frame, and comes in US and European variants.
