The Hopper hybrid electric car prepares for launch

The Hopper Mobility start-up is now accepting pre-orders for its Hopper electric “bike”, intended to replace cars in urban areas. Reservations can be made from 300 euros. When launched on the market, the Hopper will cost 6,499 euros, with a discount of 800 euros on the first models.

Those who want to support the development with their experience can participate in the pilot project. At the end of 2022, these first employees will receive one of the 15 vehicles intended for this purpose. From mid-2022 there will be the possibility of test drives for other interested parties.

We expect to start mass production of the Hopper in the spring of 2023. We expect to be able to produce around 1,000 vehicles in the first year.

The operation is already in full swing and production will take place in Germany.

According to its inventors, the Hopper combines the advantages of cars and bicycles. Traffic jams in the city can be easily avoided by using the cycle paths.

The rear three-wheel steering body offers great flexibility, even in tight urban areas. Steering is comfortable with a steering wheel.

An electric drive provides sufficient speed. Thanks to its compact design, there is room to park almost anywhere.

At the same time, the driver’s cabin provides protection against wind and weather.

As an option, the sides can be completely closed with a transparent canvas.

The Hopper offers space for two adults or one adult and two children. The trunk can optionally be extended to accommodate crates of groceries and drinks.

The Hopper is said to consume only 2 kWh/100 km of electricity. Compared to conventional electric cars, this represents only one seventh of the consumption for the same distance, underlines the manufacturer.

The range is said to reach 50 kilometers and can be doubled to 100 kilometers with an optional additional battery. The batteries are removable and can be recharged at any outlet.

The installation of a solar panel on the roof is planned, which should provide up to five kilometers of additional autonomy per hour of sunshine.
