Bobcat Company, an American manufacturer of agricultural and construction equipment, unveiled two new machine concepts on the first day of CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2023. Following the launch in 2022 of the Bobcat T7X, the world’s first compact track loader fully electric in the world, Bobcat has now introduced the The world’s first all-electric skid steer loaderthe Bobcat S7X.
The company also exceeded industry expectations with the introduction of its new concept crawler loader, the Bobcat RogueX. This next generation machine concept explores the capabilities of electric power, self-contained operation and dual lift arm geometry.
Like the T7X, the Bobcat S7X is a 100% electric vehicle and is powered by a 60.5 kWh lithium-ion battery. With up to three times the instantaneous torque of traditional chargers, the battery and electric powertrain generate incredible performance characteristics. The powerful loader is equipped to outperform its diesel-powered counterpart, balancing durability and performance with zero emissions.
This skid steer loader provides operators with a smooth and comfortable experience with minimal vibration and near-silent operation. Depending on the application, the S7X can run for up to 8 hours on a single charge, giving most operators more than a full day’s work when accounting for breaks and downtime. The vehicle takes approximately 10 hours to fully charge.
Bobcat’s RogueX combines technologically advanced features that make it a one-of-a-kind concept machine. The machine was designed as a proving ground to advance Bobcat’s innovation roadmap, gauge customer perceptions and test the limits of machine functionality. It features unique state-of-the-art features including vertical and radial trajectory lifting capabilities in one machine.
The all-electric, self-contained machine concept produces zero emissions because it has a lithium-ion battery, an electric drive system and has no hydraulics. Currently, the S7X skid steer loader is presented as a prototype with plans for commercialization. And the RogueX is in the early stages of research and development at Bobcat. For the moment, no additional details are available on its future commercialization.
